Choosing Your Role
When you sign up you choose to be a student or an instructor. This page explains what each role can do so you can pick the right one. Remember, you can start as a student and apply to teach later.
Overview
Choosing between a student and instructor account during sign-up.
Student accounts
A student account is for learning. As a student you can:
- Search for and book live tutors.
- Enrol in and watch courses.
- Take quizzes, submit assignments, and earn certificates.
- Track your XP, achievements, and progress.
Instructor accounts
An instructor account is for teaching. Instructors are reviewed and approved by our team before they can appear publicly. As an instructor you can:
- Build and sell courses.
- Offer live tutoring sessions and set your rates.
- Manage students, assignments, and live quizzes.
- Track your earnings and reviews.
Instructor accounts go through a short approval process. You will need to submit some details about your background before your profile can be listed.
Can I be both?
Yes. Every instructor can also learn as a student. If you signed up as a student and later want to teach, see Becoming an Instructor.
